MEGA SUPERBET LOST TO IGOKEA IN A NAIL-BITING FINISH

The players of Mega Superbet were unable to secure a victory on their tough away game, as they lost to Igokea 87:90 (20:22, 27:27, 21:22, 19:19) in the 21st round of the ABA League. The match was closely contested throughout, with Marko Barać’s team staying in the game until the final moments. However, the host managed to pull away from the free-throw line in the tense finish, earning the win. Mega Superbet now holds a 10-11 record after 21 rounds, while Igokea is at 13-8.

The most efficient player for Mega Superbet was Mihailo Petrović with 15 points, but the most valuable player was Bogoljub Marković, who contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists (index 22). Kosta Kondić scored 14 points, Andrija Jelavić added 12 points and six rebounds, while Filip Jović also scored 11 points.

For Igokea, the standout player was Brajs Džons with 30 points. Dragan Milosavljević added 17, while Vasilije Pušica and Nikola Marić both scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Mega started the game well, taking an early 6-2 lead. Igokea briefly took the lead, but a series of points from the free-throw line allowed Barać’s team to regain a slight advantage. It was a tough battle until the end of the first quarter, with the host making a series of points in the closing moments to reverse the score and take a 22:20 lead at the first break. Igokea held onto the lead until the middle of the second quarter, when Koflič’s shot gave Mega the lead, but only for a short period. The teams traded baskets until halftime, and the difference remained the same as after the first quarter, 49:47.

The host started the third quarter with a big run, taking a 61:49 lead. Barać responded with two timeouts, and after a few minutes, Kondić hit a three-pointer to spark Mega’s comeback. Mega finished the quarter with a 7:2 run to close the gap to 71:65. The visitors continued to chip away at the deficit, and although Igokea briefly responded in the middle of the final quarter, back-to-back three-pointers by Miljenović and Petrović made it clear that Barać’s team wasn’t giving up. With one minute left, the game was within a two-point difference, and Mega had a chance to take the lead, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Igokea sealed the win from the free-throw line.
