MEGA SUPERBET DEFEATED BY DUBAI ON RETURN TO HALL OF SPORTS

Mega Superbet’s basketball team was unable to get back on the winning track upon returning to the Ranko Žeravica Hall of Sports, as they lost to Dubai 66:95 (12:29, 22:22, 15:27, 17:17) in the 18th round of the ABA League. Under the guidance of Marko Barać, the team couldn’t match the experience of their opponents. They played their best in the second quarter, but it wasn’t enough to challenge the guests from the United Arab Emirates. In the end, Dubai claimed the victory, improving their record to 13-5, while Mega’s record after the game stands at 8-10.

Andrija Jelavić was the top scorer for Mega Superbet with 16 points, also grabbing eight rebounds for an index rating of 23, while Mihailo Petrović was close to a double-double with 11 points and nine assists. It is also worth noting that Stefan Miljenović made his return to the court after being sidelined for nine months due to an injury.

For Dubai, Davis Bertans was the top scorer with 19 points, Nejt Mejson added 13, and Avudu Abas and Klemen Prepelič each scored 11, while Danilo Anđušić contributed 10 points.

Mega Superbet started the game with great energy but failed to capitalize on it. The opponent quickly went on a 9-2 run, followed by a 9-3 run, giving them a substantial advantage after just six minutes of play. Barać tried to find the right combination, but the more experienced Dubai team maintained and even extended their lead. After the first quarter, the score stood at 29:12 in favor of the Emirati guests. Mega hit two three-pointers at the start of the second quarter, briefly reducing the deficit, but Dubai pulled away again. In the closing moments of the first half, Barać’s team had another solid run, but it was only enough to cut the deficit to 17 points (34:51).

After 10 consecutive points from the guests at the start of the third quarter, it became clear that Mega was in a tough spot. They tried everything to get back into the game and reduce the gap, but Dubai maintained an extremely high level of play, leading 78:49 after 30 minutes. No matter how hard Barać’s team tried in the final quarter, the deficit was too large to overcome, and they ultimately suffered a convincing defeat.
