BARAĆ: “OUR DEFENSE WAS AT A HIGH LEVEL – LET’S CONTINUE TO GROW AS A TEAM AND APPROACH EVERY GAME WITH A WINNING MENTALITY”

Mega MIS basketball players secured their fourth consecutive win at the start of the ABA League season by defeating Mornar-Barsko zlato 84:59 (23:14, 21:13, 19:21, 21:11) at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. Marko Barać’s team played an excellent game on both ends of the court, gradually increasing their lead throughout the game. The lead exceeded 20 points by halftime, and although Mornar put up more resistance in the third quarter, Mega quickly built an unassailable advantage in the final period, ultimately securing a convincing victory for a 4-0 record in the ABA League.

Mega MIS coach, Marko Barać, shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

I’d like to congratulate my players. They worked hard and diligently throughout the week to prepare for this game in the best possible way. Defensively, we were at a high level for 40 minutes, which allowed us to control the things Mornar does very well and generally their creative offensive system. I’m glad we won the battle for rebounds, which is always a priority for our team, and that we continued with good ball movement and a high number of assisted points. I hope we will keep playing like this. I’d like to congratulate our opponents on their fair play and wish them luck in the rest of the competition. As for us, we must continue to grow as a team, make individual progress, and approach every game with the desire to win,” Barać said.

He also commented on the status of Kosta Kondić, who wasn’t in the lineup:

He suffered an injury during practice this week and wasn’t ready to play. As has happened before, we didn’t let that distract us because all 14 guys who are with us train very well, and I’m pleased when I can give someone the chance to show that in the game. We’ll see what the situation is with Kosta, and we’ll continue to work hard,” added Mega MIS head coach,” Marko Barać.

In the next, fifth round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will visit Split at Gripe, with the game scheduled for October 19 at 7:00 PM.
