MEGA MIS OPENS NEW SEASON IN ABA LEAGUE WITH TRIUMPH AGAINST KRKA

The basketball players of Mega MIS started the new season in the ABA League with a victory against Krka on the road, winning 70:80 (19:16, 14:23, 16:18, 21:23). Marko Barać’s team took control in the third quarter, pulled away in the fourth, and ultimately deservedly achieved victory at the Leon Štukelj Hall for a successful start to the 2024/25 season.

The most effective player for Mega MIS was Mihailo Petrović, who scored 19 points and also dished out five assists for an efficiency rating of 23. He was followed by Andrija Jelavić with 14 points and eight rebounds, and Filip Jović, who also contributed 14 points. Kosta Kondić recorded a double-digit performance with 12 points, while Bogoljub Marković, with nine points, also grabbed six rebounds.

For Krka, Tyler Persons led the scoring with 21 points, while Jan Špan added 13.

The hosts started the game slightly better and led 9:4 after five minutes. Krka maintained the lead and repelled Mega’s attacks, leading 19:16 after the first ten minutes. However, Barać’s team turned the tide right at the beginning of the second quarter, leading to a back-and-forth scoreline. After a three-pointer by Marković with six minutes left until halftime, Mega established control. They led by as much as eight points and went into halftime with a 39:33 advantage.

The hosts closed the gap to just one point in the middle of the third period, but Jelavić kept Mega’s lead intact. After a three-pointer by Petrović and a dunk by Jović, Barać’s team led 57:49. Kondić then dunked to give Mega MIS a double-digit lead, which they maintained with good play, further extending their advantage and ultimately deservedly securing the victory.

In the second round of the ABA League, the players of Mega MIS will host FMP, with the match scheduled for Sunday, September 29, at 12:00.
