MMEGA MIS AND BUDUĆNOST HONOR THE MEMORY OF DEJAN MILOJEVIĆ, BARAĆ’S TEAM WITHOUT SOLUTION AGAINST PODGORICA
The Mega MIS basketball team hosted Budućnost VOLI in the 18th round of the ABA League, marking the memory of the late Dejan Milojević. The ceremony in his honor took place before the game, with the presence of his family and friends. Players from both teams were presented in specially designed shirts, and a short film about the former Budućnost player and coach, and long-time Mega coach was shown. A minute of silence in Dejan’s honor was observed before the tip-off.
Despite the heartfelt tribute, Marko Barać’s team couldn’t secure a victory at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, as the Podgorica team won 92-72 (20:19, 14:31, 18:18, 20:24) after 40 minutes of play. Mega had a good start, staying competitive with Budućnost and ending the first quarter with a minimal lead. However, Budućnost took control in the second quarter, quickly building a double-digit advantage by halftime. Barać’s team tried to make a comeback in the second half, but Budućnost consistently repelled their efforts, securing their 13th victory in the league with a 13-5 record. Mega MIS, after 18 rounds, has a balanced record of 9 wins and 9 losses.
Nikola Đurišić stood out for Mega with 17 points and a PIR of 23. Stefan Miljenović also contributed 17 points, while Uroš Plavšić scored 12.
In the winning team, Fletcher Magee and Kenan Kamenjaš each scored 17 points, Yogi Ferrell added 16, and Nikola Tanasković contributed 11 points.
Mega started the game with good energy, holding their own against the favored opponent. Players like Jelavić, Malovec, Đurišić, and Plavšić contributed to Mega’s lead, but they ended the first quarter with only a narrow advantage of 20-19. Budućnost then took control, building a significant lead in the second quarter. Despite efforts from Mega in the second half, Budućnost maintained their lead and secured the victory.
