TRIO FROM MEGA ON THE TOP OF EUROPE WITH SERBIA’S NATIONAL TEAM, BOGOLJUB MARKOVIĆ IN THE BEST FIVE
The Serbian basketball team won the U18 European Championship in Niš with a victory over Spain in the final, 81:71 (24:24, 17:16, 15:11, 25:20), and three young players from Mega MIS, Bogoljub Marković, Andrej Mušicki, and Filip Jović, earned the gold medal.
Marković finished the tournament with an average of 14.1 points and seven rebounds, which brought him an average PIR of 17.3, earning him a place in the tournament’s Best Five.
Andrej Mušicki was also a crucial part of the national team’s success, and the young Mega point guard averaged 6.4 points, 4.3 assists, 3.4 steals, and three rebounds per game, resulting in an average PIR of 12.1. He was also among the top performers in the final with 12 points.
Filip Jović had an excellent start to the tournament, but an injury prevented him from helping Serbia until the end. In the four games he played, he averaged 10 points and 5.3 rebounds, with an average performance index rating of 14.5.
Another young player from Mega MIS, Urban Kroflič, participated in the European Championship in Niš. In Slovenia’s defeat against Greece in the 7th-place game, he scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kroflič averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in the tournament.
