JUNIORS OF MEGA MIS WILL DEFEND THE EUROPEAN CROWN ON THURSDAY AT THE FINAL JUNIOR EUROLEAGUE TOURNAMENT IN KAUNAS

Juniors of Mega MIS will participate from May 18 to 21 in the Final ANGT tournament of the Junior Euroleague in Kaunas and will be able to defend the title won last year in Belgrade. By winning the qualifying tournament in the capital of Serbia, Dragoljub Avramović’s team previously booked their ticket to Lithuania, where they will compete in Group B against their peers from Joventut, the Next Generation team, and the host Žalgiris for a place in the finals and a match for the European crown against the best team from Group A, which includes the juniors of Crvena Zvezda, Barcelona, Panathinaikos, and Real Madrid.

The first match on the program is on Thursday, May 18, from 2.45 pm, and the opponent is Žalgiris. The next day, at the same time, Avramović’s team will compete with the Next Generation team, while the last match of the group stage is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, from 12:30 pm, and the opponent is the Joventut team.

Mega MIS travels to Kaunas with the following roster: Luka Savanović, Asim Đulović, Andrej Mušicki, Urban Kroflič, Đorđe Čurčić, Ognjen Srzentić, Petar Milosavčević, Vuk Šipčić, Bogoljub Marković, Danilo Dožić, Filip Jović and Abdramane Siby.

Coach Dragoljub Avramović pointed out that the team can’t wait to compete with the best European teams.

– I am sure that we will play good basketball and that our boys will show all their talent and work in the best way. In tournaments like this, there is no easier or more difficult opponent, every game is like a small final, and we really can’t wait for the tournament to start,

Avramović said.

The junior selection of Mega has been a regular participant in the Final Tournaments of the Junior Euroleague since 2016, and in 2017 and 2019, it also reached the finals. Last year, in the Sports Hall Ranko Žeravica, Mega won the title for the first time, triumphing in the final over the Next Generation team, led by the legendary Vasilis Spanoulis.
