BARAĆ: “WE DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO MAINTAIN STRENGTH AND REBOUNDING, BUT FROM TOMORROW WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK AND CORRECT MISTAKES”

Mega MIS once again rewarded the fans for securing the playoffs of the ABA League. They organized the meeting of the 25th round of the ABA League in Sremska Mitrovica and the PSC Pinki hall, which Mega called her home from 2014 to 2019. In a great atmosphere, in front of around 2,500 spectators, they showed once again that they never give up, as they overcame a deficit of 18 points in the third quarter but failed to defeat the favored Buducnost Voli team, 76:85 (24:24, 14:30, 26:14, 12:17). Marko Barać’s team dealt equally with the Podgorica team until the middle of the second quarter when the visitors broke away and started building advantages. They led with 18 points, but Mega managed to equalize at the end of the third quarter. However, Vladimir Jovanović’s more experienced team re-established control, started the final quarter at a slightly slower pace, and eventually won.

Marko Barać gave his impressions after the 25th meeting in the regional league this season (12-13 score):

– I would like to congratulate the Buducnosti team on their well-deserved victory. The game was open, so we exchanged points, which my young players accepted, and they were happy. However, I knew that Budućnost is an excellent team and that they would not allow that for the entire first half. I tried to respond, but it turned out that they tightened the defense in the second quarter, where we did not have an adequate response. At half-time, a reaction had to happen; we came out on the field completely differently, much firmer, which resulted in a complete return to the match. The game broke at the end of the third and the beginning of the last quarter when we got into trouble with personal fouls. We didn’t have enough experience to keep our strength and rebounding, and in the last quarter, we allowed the rival as many as nine offensive rebounds, which is the biggest reason for the defeat. We will try to learn our lessons, enter the gym tomorrow, continue working hard, and correct mistakes. I wish the Buducnosti team the best of luck until the end of the league,

In the last round of the ABA league, Mega MIS is visiting Cedevita Olimpija, and the meeting in Ljubljana is scheduled for April 15 from 5:00 p.m.
