MEGA MIS STARTS THE FIGHT RADIVOJE KORAC CUP AGAINST VOJVODINA ON WEDNESDAY, BARAĆ: “A DIFFICULT AND VERY EXPERIENCED OPPONENT”

On Wednesday, the Mega MIS basketball players will start their fight at the Radivoje Korać Cup, which will be held again this year in the Čair hall in Niš from February 15 to 18. The rival of Marko Barać’s team in the quarterfinals is Vojvodina, and the match is scheduled for 9:00 pm. In case of a triumph, Mega will meet in the semi-finals with the better of the clash between FMP SoccerBet and Metalac.

Head coach of Mega MIS, Marko Barać, points out that his team faces a difficult task at the start of the tournament:

– At the moment, everything fits into that first game, and I am not looking at the draw. A formidable opponent is in front of us, and as a young team, we have no right to think about anything but the first next rival. We did scouting and got to know them. I respect the very experienced Vojvodina team, which knows how to play and has a pronounced inner game. A tough team, they often change their defense, and there is undoubtedly a difficult task ahead of us,

said Barac.

Seven years ago in Niš, Mega managed to win the Cup when they were better than Partizan in the final. Before that, Mega reached the final in 2014, 2015, and 2021. Barać hopes that basketball fans will have the opportunity to enjoy an excellent basketball show this time as well.

– It has a unique charm. Mid-season trophy competition. On the other hand, in addition to the fact that the Cup is extremely interesting in all countries of the world, it is also a great honor for us that it bears the name of our great man and that it is the trophy is called Zuckova levica. Many things make this Cup of ours very interesting, and I hope it will be a true spectacle,

Captain Luka Cerovina was part of the team that fought for the Cup two years ago. He believes that thanks to the draw, which determined that Mega MIS could not meet Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet and Partizan Mozzart Bet until the finals, his team has a chance for the feat.

– Let’s go game by game. We are a young team, there is no room for relaxation, and there are no games won in advance for us. Vojvodina is a very high-quality team with a couple of experienced players. They are winning in the series, and it will certainly not be easy. When an elimination game is played, if there are a few empty minutes, it can be very awkward. Having learned from the experience of previous seasons, we have to enter with full focus. We are going step by step, and we certainly have the desire to show as much as we can,

Cerovina is clear.

At the same time, the Radivoje Korać Mini Cup is being played in Niš, where the pioneers of Mega MIS will cross spears with their peers from Vojvodina in the quarterfinals. The matches are scheduled from February 16 to 18, taking place at Dušan Radović Primary School and Šivara Sports Center, while the final will be played in the large hall of Čair on Saturday from 2:00 pm.

The pioneers of Mega won the Korać Mini Cup in 2017 and 2018, and they will start their quest for a new cup from SC Šivar on Thursday at 3:00 pm when they meet Vojvodina. In case of triumph, they will meet in the semi-finals with the better of the duel between FMP and the team of the City of Niš on Friday from noon in ŠK Dušan Radović. On the other side of the draw are the pairs Partizan – Spartak Subotica (13.00) and Crvena Zvezda – Borac Mozzart.
