BARAĆ: “WE LEARNED LESSONS FROM THE FIRST DUEL, CONTINUED TO WORK, AND RECORDED AN IMPORTANT AND VERY NICE VICTORY”

Mega MIS basketball players played the best game of the season and defeated Cibona in the middle of Zagreb 106:72 (28:18, 30:19, 29:13, 22:19). Marko Barać’s team continued their great performances and recorded their fourth consecutive victory, seventh triumph in the 17th round of the regional championship (7-10), very important in the fight for the playoffs, while Cibona suffered its 11th defeat (6-11).

Coach Marko Barać shared his impressions after the great triumph:

– I’m sure I’m satisfied, this is an important and very nice victory for us. First of all, I am satisfied with the way the boys completed their tasks and worked to achieve this victory. From the very beginning, it was clear that we learned lessons from our first clash, in the first part of the season, where Cibona played very smartly and sobered us up, showing us how much we needed to work. We continued to work. In sports, the timing of work and results often do not coincide, but we have improved recently, and the players have progressed individually, which can be seen in our team play. First half 18 assists, which is a pretty high number, to six turnovers, which is a very good ratio. The ball went as it should, we found an open man, and we punished it with a good percentage. When you play against an experienced and qualified team like Cibona, it is very important that you have to play from the defense and look for the rhythm of the game that suits you by being aggressive. We did it well today, especially on their playmaker, who has been playing all season outstandingly, and the result is what it is,

said Barac.

In the next round, the Mega MIS basketball players welcome Partizan Mozzart Beta, and the match is scheduled for Sunday, February 5, from 6:30 p.m. in the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
