MEGA IN A GREAT GAME AFTER TWO OT LOST AGAINST VIRGINIA

Mega MIS played their second control game in Italy, where after yesterday’s convincing victory of 92:73, today, after an exciting game and two overtimes lost in Portofino to the University of Virginia with 87:94 (11:18, 13:16, 23:18, 22:17, 10:10, 8:15).

Coach Marko Barac’s team played an extremely competitive match where, after problems with execution and a double-digit deficit in the first half, they played much better in the second and caught up with the opponent despite Rorie’s injury, in order to get to Overtime with the buzzer beater of Cazalon from the top of the cap. Even after the additional five minutes of the game, there was no winner, as both teams made only half of their free throws in the last 10 seconds of the first overtime. In the second overtime, Mega’s players ran out of energy, so Virginia won 87:94.

The most effective in the ranks of Mega were Malcolm Cazalon with 22 points and Nikola Djurisic with 17, while Danko Brankovic had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Kihei Clark with 23 points and Reece Beekman with 21 points stood out in Virginia.

Mega MIS will spend one more day in Portofino, and they will return to Belgrade on Sunday.
