JOVANOVIC: “I HOPE THAT IN NOVI SAD WE WILL HAVE SAME APPROACH AS IN THE FIRST GAME AGAINST VOJVODINA”
Mega Mozzart already has a chance to reach the finals on Monday!
After a convincing victory in the first semifinal duel of the playoffs of the Serbian Superleague against Vojvodina, Mega will not have much time to rest, since a new match against the same opponent awaits them already on Monday. The players of coach Vladimir Jovanovic will have the opportunity to secure a place in the finals with a victory in Novi Sad, and a possible third match would be played on Wednesday, May 18, in the Mega Factory hall.
The winner of this semi-final series, which is played in the best of three, will play with the better from the duel Borac – Mladost in the semifinals, where the Borac is currently leading with 1:0.
Before the second game of the semifinals of the playoffs against Vojvodina, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic said he hoped that the approach in the second game would be the same as in the first:
– As I already mentioned in the announcement of the first game, regardless of all the tactical ideas, some standard that every young team should have is a high level of energy. It is important for us to play not at a satisfactory level of energy, but over that, and only in such situations do we show our quality and talent. We did that in the first half of the first game, where we played very well on both sides of the field, both in attack and defense with a lot of easy points from the counterattack. We opened the second half with a lack of intensity and concentration, and that, of course, immediately affected the result. I think that Vojvodina has a quality team and I am sure that they will enter the second game very motivated and show a reaction. I hope our approach to the second game will be the same as in the first,
coach of Mega said.
At the last game, Mega’s Power Forward Petar Kovacevic received the award for the best rebounder in the regular part of the Serbian Basketball League, and before the game in Novi Sad, he pointed out that his team must be concentrated from the start of the game:
– A difficult match awaits us after the first game in which we celebrated on our floor. We have to be concentrated from the start of the game, they will certainly look for their chance at home, but with the right approach, we hope to win and pass,
said Kovacevic.
The second game of the semifinals of the Playoffs of Superleague against Vojvodina will be played on Monday, May 16 at 7 pm in the Small Hall of the SPC Vojvodina in Novi Sad, with a live broadcast on TV Arena Sport.
