JOVANOVIC: “WE SHOWED REACTION IN SECOND HALF BUT WE DIDN’T HAVE STRENGTH FOR THE WIN”
Mega Mozzart lost to Zadar in the 12th round of the ABA League with 70:72 (16:24, 16:22, 26:11, 12:15). The players of coach Vladimir Jovanovic during the greater part of the match were the result deficit that they managed to reach in the third quarter. In the last quarter, Mega also had the lead, but in the dramatic finish, they ran out of strength and a little luck, so Zadar reached win with Carter’s points in the last second.
At the press conference after the game, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that his team showed a reaction in the second half, but that in the last minutes, despite the correct defense, they did not have the strength to turn the match in their favor:
– We did not open the match the way we wanted and had to. The reduced rotation with which we have been practicing and playing for a long time certainly affects our matches. The first half was not good on our side in all segments, especially in defense. In many cases, we had nobody’s balls under both baskets, which in the end Zadar took and made a solid difference. We showed a reaction in the second half, but in those last minutes, despite more than correct defense, we did not have the strength to turn the match in our favor. I would like to congratulate Zadar on the victory, and we have a period of regrouping and preparation for the next game with Partizan,
