MEGA CONVINCING AGAINST MZT, RECORDS OF CANCAR AND KABA

Players of Mega Lele with secure victory against MZT Skopje Aerodrom with 87:72 (27:22, 15:16, 23:19, 22:15), ended the negative series in the ABA league and reached the second win. Match of the 7th round of the regional competition was played in a great atmosphere in the hall PSC Pinki in Sremska Mitrovica and the match was resolved middle of the last quarter when in a few minutes Cancar scored 15 points and definitely decided the winner. Mega in this match because of injury was deprived of help of Spasojevic, Carapic and Glogovac.

Best in Mega was Vlatko Cancar with 23 points, which is his best score of the season. Zagorac scored 19 points (12 in the third quarter), Novak 13 and Kaba with 12 points who also grabbed record of 18 rebound, of which 11 were offensive rebounds.

Milojevic started the match with the following five: Jaramaz, Mushifi, Zagorac, Cancar and Kaba. Mega started with a series of 7:0 where Kaba got plus one, powerful dunk and then a steal and assistance for dunk of Jaramaz. MZT returned but Cancar corresponds with two threes, one of which followed a self-sacrificing throw on the floor of Mushidi and gained new attack. The first quarter ends Zagorac for 27:22.

MZT downs difference at the beginning of the second quarter at 34:32 but Novak answered with two three pointers for plus 8 for Mega. However, players of Mega Leks repeatedly didn’t succeed  to separate at the significant advantage so the half goes to 42:38. The most effective in the first half was Jovan Novak with 9 points while Kaba ruled rebounds with already 10 rebounds and 7 points scored.

In the third quarter, captain of Mega Rade Zagorac was in the mood with 12 points, Kaba continued to rule rebounds, so Mega reached 65:57 before the final period.

In the middle of the last quarter Cancar played great since at the result at 73:66, he first hit three, then stole the ball and got two free throws. Then came the two points the second of which was under contact so at the end he spice it all with three. At the end Mega reached landslide victory 87:72.

After seven rounds, Mega has score of two wins and five defeats while MZT remained on one win in seven matches. Mega already on Wednesday will continue competition in the Basketball Champions League with match against Mornar in Bar while in the ABA league next Saturday will welcome Krka.
