JARAMAZ FOR MEGA’S WIN AFTER BIG DEFICIT
Mega Leks in a great atmosphere in hall Pinki in Sremska Mitrovica beat Cibona with 81:79 (15:29, 24:14, 23:17, 19:19) within of the second round of the Basketball Champions League. Mega was losing15 points difference but in the end after layup of Jaramaz 26 seconds to the end, defended the final attach after Marinelli missed three point for win.
Best in the ranks of Mega Leks were Ognjen Jaramaz with 22 points and Kostja Mushidi with 19 while at guests the best was Ante Zizic who scored 22 points. Mega in this match because of injury played without Spasojevic, Glogovac and Carapic.
Milojevic started the match with the following five: Novak, Mushidi, Zagorac, Cancar and Kaba. After a tied game at the beginning, Cibona started to peel off with threes and quickly reached double-digit lead. Mega played bad in the defense so the first quarter final score was 15:29.
After 17:32 at the beginning of the second quarter, Mega has played great defense and began to hit shots, mainly Cancar and Mushidi and the result was reduced to only 2 points difference, 37:39. The first half was ended with an excellent action of Zagorac for 39:43.
In the second Mega played great defense, Mushidi’s brilliant block lifted the crowd to its feet and then Zagorac from the free throw line brings lead to Mega. With points of Novak ended third quarter, 64:60.
Mega after points of Jaramaz and fantastic dunk of Kaba came to 77:70 in four minutes to the end but Cibona managed to equalize with Sakic’s points from free throw line. Jaramaz managed to break through the defense of Cibona and to layup 26 seconds before end. Since Marinelli’s three-point shot was not precise, it was the signal for a great celebration in the hall.
After two rounds, Mega has score 1-1 in Group D while Cibona is now without a win. In the next round of Basketball Champions League Mega will play away against Mornar on 2nd of November from 18:00 while in the meantime, on Sunday 30th of October in the 7th round of ABA league will welcome Macedonian MZT.
