VICTORY FOR THE END OF THE HISTORIC SEASON!

Players of Mega Leksa won against FMP with 81:73 (24:19, 21:19, 19:15, 17:20), and they qualified for the ABA league next season. Mega in a fantastic atmosphere in the hall PSC Pinki in Sremska Mitrovica managed in the 5th match series for the 3rd place to achieve victory and third place and after overall score of 3:2, to put  to an end to the historic season for the club where they won Radivoj Korac Cup and achieved place in the final of the regional competition.

Mega led throughout the match but didn’t manage to resolve the win earlier. FMP has managed to reduce the difference in the mid of the last quarter to only 4 points, but that was followed by threes of Nikolic and Simeunovic that practically decided the winner by the end since FMP failed to threaten the victory of Mega.

Mega also in this match had the support of the players from the youth categories of the club and former players like Nenad Miljenovic, Marko Lukovic, Aleksandar Marelja and others. At the end of the match the players of Mega Leks expressed gratitude to the audience in Sremska Mitrovica for support throughout the season by throwing shooting shirts to the stands so there will be some viewers back home with great souvenir as a reminder of a fantastic season of Mega Leks.

Best in Mega Leks were Aleksandar Rasic with 20 points and Rade Zagorac with 15 points and 10 rebounds (index 34). For FMP’s the best was Stefan Lazarevic with 20 points.

In the first half of the match was held Roda prize game where the viewers competed in shooting from the position of surprises for Roda prize packages.

Dejan Milojevic started the match with the following five: Ivanovic, Popovic, Zagorac, Nikolic and Zubac. At the beginning of the match stood out Zagorac with several points and assists and Ivica Zubac with 3 blocks. Mega with threes of Rašic reaches 11 points lead (22:11) followed by a mini series of FMP who managed to reduce the score to 24:19 at the end of the first quarter.

At the beginning of the second quarter FMP hits two baskets but Milojevic reacts with the time-out. This was followed by two threes of Rašic for a new lead but Davidovac returns with two hits behind the line of 6.75. Finish of quarter belongs to Zagorac, first with a steal and a great layup and then on points in the final seconds after offensive rebound for 45:38.

In the third quarter Mega completely controlled the game and came up to plus 15 at the end of the period that ended with 64:53.

In the last 10 minutes FMP dangerously threatened and reduced the lead to 66-62 in the 34th minute. This was followed by the threes from Nikolic and Simeunovic.  After another three of Danilo Nikolic, winner was definitely decided with 52 seconds left in the game since Mega came to plus 10. The match finished with 81:73, after which followed a big celebration in the hall PSC Pinki in Sremska Mitrovica.
