CAKIC: “JOKIC IS A BIG PROMOTER OF MEGA IN NBA”

Sporting director of Mega Leks Goran Cakic impressionable returned from Toronto where he had the opportunity to follow all events at NBA All-Star weekend. Particularly pleasure for Cakic wa socializing with former player of Mega Nikola Jokic who as rookie chested participation in the glamorous festival of strongest basketball league of the world.

– Although he had many obligationsm, that little free time he used to see me. It’s amazing how in a short time in America Nikola received a lot of sympathy. Everybody really love him and talking with people in the NBA league, especially from international players, I could hear nothing but praise and positive comments. He is really great ambassador of our country in the NBA, but thanks to him, the Serbian flag is next to the flag of countries other participants stood next to the Air Canada Centre terrain throughout All-Star weekend – began the story Cakić and then added:

– Jokic told me that regularly monitors the games of Mega Leks. He knew the defeat of Olimpija, but also for punishment training of Dejan Milojevic day after the defeat of Ljubljana’s meaning that he is in contact with former teammates as I am very happy for that – said Cakic with a smile.

Staying in Toronto Cakic  used for the presence at the famous NBA camp for young players from around the world called “Basketball without Borders”, in which the participation unfortunately due to injury, had to cancel Mega’s player Aleksandar Aranitovic.

– A large number of scouts and general managers  ofNBA teams followed the developments in this camp in the organization since its founding participate Marin Sedlacek. With many of them I was able to talk. Nikola Jokic, who directly from the jersey of Mega went to the NBA, is our great promoter out there and I have to emphasize in particular. For this reason, Mega is well known club to all of them, and I was really proud of the fact how many they monitor and evaluate our work. They were very sorry of Aranitovic due to injury occured, most are asking for Luwawu, but also about the program of work that we conduct with young players – said Cakic.

Thanks to Zarko Cabarkapa who with several former NBA players Yao Ming, Jerry Stackhouse, Tracy McGrady, was the promoter of the camp, Cakić during All-Star weekend enjoyed great hospitality:

– Time was mostly spent with people from the Department for International NBA players. From the director of the Department and Vice President of NBA Kim Bohuny I could hear many ideas around the NBA development in Europe and on other continents. All in all, it was a very valuable experience – concluded Cakic.
