BARAĆ: “A VERY IMPORTANT WIN AND A MOTIVATION TO CONTINUE WITH GOOD RESULTS”

The basketball team of Mega Superbet secured their 12th win in the ABA League by defeating Zadar 75-74 at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. After an evenly matched game throughout almost all 40 minutes, the result came down to the final seconds, with Mega clinching the victory on a three-pointer by Mihailo Petrović with two seconds remaining. This win improves Mega’s record to 12-13, tying them with Zadar, but they hold the advantage in head-to-head matchups, having beaten the Croatian team twice this season.

After the game, Mega Superbet head coach Marko Barać shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

– I would like to congratulate my players on this very important win. We found a way to turn the game around at the end and secure a triumph that is crucial for us. Zadar is an outstanding team, and it seems they are currently at the peak of their form. They cause a lot of problems for everyone with their roster configuration and style of play. In the opening of the game, they were able to get open three-point shots by using three big players and feeding the ball inside. The good thing is that we managed to control this as the game went on, and they hit four three-pointers in the first quarter but only seven by the end of the game. Another important factor against Zadar is controlling the rebounds and their second-chance points. In the first half, we were quite poor in that regard, and they reached their season average, but in the second half, they only scored three. This reflects the fact that my team fought hard today, giving their last ounce of energy in a delicate situation where we had a significant number of players recovering from injuries on the perimeter, and on top of that, we lost our starting point guard in the second minute. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t simple, but I hope this win will be a big boost to continue with the high-quality work we did last week and keep achieving good results,

In the upcoming 26th round of the ABA League, Mega Superbet will visit Borac Mozzart in Čačak. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, at 20:00 at the Borac Hall.
