BARAĆ: “NO DEFEAT IS EASY, THE POSITIVE THING IS MILJENOVIĆ’S RETURN”

Mega Superbet’s basketball team was unable to get back on track upon returning to the Ranko Žeravica Hall of Sports, as they lost to Dubai 66:95 (12:29, 22:22, 15:27, 17:17) in the 18th round of the ABA League. Under the guidance of Marko Barać, the team could not match the experience of their opponents. They played their best in the second quarter, but it wasn’t enough to challenge the guests from the United Arab Emirates. In the end, Dubai celebrated and improved their record to 13-5, while Mega’s record after the game stands at 8-10.

Marko Barać, the coach of Mega Superbet, shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

I congratulate Dubai on a well-deserved victory, they controlled the game from the first to the last minute. The surprise we caused in the first part of the season made them take us very seriously. They are a fantastic team, everyone gave their contribution tonight and played at their best, and we couldn’t match that. I said before the game that I believed we could still play good basketball with this lineup, but tonight it turned out I was wrong: 20 turnovers and poor offensive solutions show that our backcourt wasn’t up to par. The consequence of that is the way we couldn’t establish our game, where Dubai managed to control us from the start and caused us many problems. No defeat is easy, and this one is tough for us, but the only positive thing at this moment is Stefan Miljenović’s return to the court. I’m really happy for him, and it’s a pleasure to work with him. What he showed tonight is just a hint of the quality he has, and we expect a lot from him. I wish Dubai the best for the rest of the season,” said Barać.

In the next, 19th round of the ABA League, Mega Superbet will visit Mornar in Bar. The game at the Topolica Hall is scheduled for February 1st at 18:00.
