MEGA SUPERBET FAILS TO FIND A SOLUTION FOR RED-HOT KRKA

Mega Superbet’s basketball team lost to Krka in the 16th round of the ABA League, played at TC Dejan Milojević, with a final score of 87:94 (16:28, 24:21, 20:26, 27:19). Marko Barać’s team found themselves trailing by double digits in the first quarter but managed to cut the deficit to a minimal margin by the middle of the second period. However, their opponent regained control, building a lead of 18 points in the third quarter. Mega fought back in every possible way, but they could not break their opponent’s resistance, who managed to maintain their advantage and win. Mega Superbet now has a record of 8-8 after 16 rounds in the regional competition, while Krka secured their fourth victory (4-12).

The best player for Mega Superbet was Filip Jović with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, achieving a performance index of 27. Mihailo Petrović also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists (index 21), while Kosta Kondić scored 23 points (index 19), and Ilija Milijašević contributed 11 points.

For Krka, the top scorer was Miha Cerkvenik with 20 points, followed by Jan Špan and Tibor Mirtič with 18 points each. Brady Skins added 14 points.

After a period of testing each other’s strength, the visitors pulled ahead with two three-pointers, and by the final minute of the first quarter, they had built a double-digit lead. They maintained this lead until the middle of the second period, when Mega went on a 10-0 run, cutting the deficit to just two points. There was a fierce battle until the end of the first half, with Barać’s team keeping up, but Krka once again pulled ahead with a three-pointer in the final moments, leading 49-40 at the break.

Mega reduced the deficit early in the third period through Jović, but Krka responded with a big run, extending their lead once again, and eventually built a significant 18-point advantage. At the last break, Krka led 75-60. Barać’s team continued fighting until the last moment, with Kondić stepping up, but it wasn’t enough to seriously challenge the energized opponent, who ultimately won by seven points.

In the next, 17th round of the ABA League, Mega Superbet will visit FMP in Železnik. The match is scheduled for Sunday, January 19, at 17:00.
