MEGA SUPERBET FALLS TO PARTIZAN IN OVERTIME AFTER A HARD-FOUGHT BATTLE

Mega Superbet kicked off 2025 with a home game against Partizan Mozzart Bet at the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall. After 45 minutes of intense basketball, they fell short in Round 15 of the ABA League, losing 90-100 (27-20, 21-21, 15-19, 19-22, 8-18). Marko Barać’s team put on an excellent performance, holding the lead for most of the game and even reaching a double-digit advantage in the third quarter. However, a significant turnaround in the fourth period shifted the momentum. Despite recovering from an eight-point deficit in the closing moments, with Aleksa Radanov sinking a three-pointer to force overtime, the young Mega team couldn’t overcome their more experienced opponents in the extra period, as Partizan sealed the victory with timely three-pointers.

Mega Superbet now stands at 8-7 midway through the regular season, placing them eighth in the ABA League standings, while Partizan shares the top spot with a 13-2 record alongside Crvena Zvezda and Budućnost.

The standout performer for Mega Superbet was Andrija Jelavić, who recorded 23 points and 14 rebounds (efficiency index 32). Mihailo Petrović also impressed with 16 points and nine assists (index 21), while Bogoljub Marković contributed 14 points and five rebounds. Kosta Kondić added 12 points, and debutant Aleksa Radanov finished the game with 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

For Partizan, Washington led the way with 19 points, followed by Tyrique Jones with 15. Carlik Jones and Aleksej Pokuševski each scored 14 points, while Brandon Davies and Sterling Brown chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The game began as a tight contest, with both teams trading leads. Mega pulled ahead late in the first quarter, with Radanov scoring his first points in the pink jersey and Kondić converting a tough and-one in the final seconds, giving Mega a seven-point lead after the first 10 minutes (27-20). Partizan managed to tie the game at 31-31 midway through the second quarter, but Mega responded with an 11-2 run. After a layup by Jelavić with a minute left in the half, Mega extended their lead to double digits, heading into halftime with a 48-41 advantage.

The intensity ramped up in the second half, with every possession contested fiercely. Partizan managed to take the lead three minutes before the end of the physical third quarter, but Mega finished strong to enter the final period with a three-point edge (63-60). Partizan then surged ahead in the fourth quarter, building an eight-point lead late in the game. However, Mega demonstrated remarkable resilience, clawing their way back with five unanswered points before Radanov’s clutch three-pointer sent the game into overtime.

In the additional five minutes, Mega fought valiantly, but Partizan’s experience shone through as they drained crucial three-pointers to secure the win.
