MEGA MIS CELEBRATES ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR WITH TRADITIONAL NEW YEAR’S TOURNAMENT

As every December, Mega MIS Basketball Club organized its traditional New Year’s exhibition tournament, featuring not only the first-team players of Mega MIS and coaching staff but also the players of ŽKK Mega. The participants were divided into three teams: Mega, MIS, and ŽKK Mega. It was especially exciting to once again see former stars Novica Veličković and Goran Ćakić back on the court, showcasing some of their brilliant skills.

Although the result at TC Dejan Milojević was of secondary importance, the ŽKK Mega team claimed the trophy, winning both of their matches. They defeated MIS 64:57 and Mega 64:42. In the third match, Mega triumphed over MIS with a 54:52 victory.

As per tradition, there was also a three-point shooting contest. Among the participants was Miško Ražnatović, who wore Dejan Milojević’s jersey from Beovuk in his honor. The tournament also featured his son, Nikola Milojević, who this season joined the coaching staff of Mega MIS.

The winners of the shooting contest were Valentina Zarić and Miha Filipović, who triumphed with a 19:18 score over Ražnatović and Lana Brenjo. As a reward, they received a voucher for shopping at Dunk Shop.

The entire event took place in a fantastic atmosphere, further enhanced by a large number of young fans, thus marking the perfect conclusion to another successful year for Mega MIS.

In the past season, Mega’s first-team players reached the semifinals of the ABA League, recorded a record streak of seven consecutive victories in the regional competition (11 straight wins in the league phase of the season). Nikola Đurišić became the 16th player from Mega MIS to be selected in the NBA draft (43rd pick, Atlanta Hawks), strengthening Mega’s record as the global leader in the number of players selected from non-U.S. clubs.

The youth teams also continued to perform excellently. The junior team won both the ABA League and the national championship, participated in the Euroleague Final Tournament, and qualified for the new season’s Euroleague ANGT Final Tournament by winning the qualification tournament in Istanbul. The cadet and pioneer teams reached the finals of the national championships, and the U15 team also won the Mini Cup in Niš.

The event was completed with the promotion of the club’s new calendar for 2025.
