BARAĆ: “AN IMPORTANT WIN, BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IS THAT WE SHOWED GOOD TEAM SPIRIT”
Mega MIS secured another ABA League victory in the 13th round, defeating Cibona at the Dejan Milojević Training Center with a score of 88:58 (18:15, 22:11, 25:18, 23:14). After an evenly matched first quarter, Marko Barać’s team took control in the second period, building a solid lead by halftime. Mega continued their impressive performance after the break, entering the final quarter with a 21-point advantage, which they further extended by the end of the match. With this victory, Mega MIS improved to a 7-6 record, while Cibona fell to 2-11 after 13 games.
Head coach Marko Barać shared his thoughts in the post-game press conference:
“I want to congratulate my players on a well-played game and an important win. I believe Cibona is much better than this score suggests. The credit goes to my players for not allowing them to gain momentum from the start, and I think we controlled that well. We opened the game fairly well defensively, but Cibona took certain risks regarding our shooters, and it paid off for them in that part. We missed several open shots but maintained our confidence through the consistent defense we played throughout the game. Once our offense and transition opened up, it looked the way it did. This is an important victory for us. What’s even more important is that we showed good team spirit, with players giving their all and overcoming injuries and challenges. I must highlight our Ilija Milijašević, who pushed through despite not being fully fit. He applied excellent pressure on the ball, played solid defense, and was rewarded with made shots. We move forward, and an important period lies ahead. We have a game against a talented team coming up. I hope more players will return to our training process, the way we’ve been working since the start of the season, and that we’ll continue to play good basketball,” said Barać.
In the 14th round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will visit Studentski Centar in Podgorica on Saturday, December 28th, at 5:00 PM.
