MEGA MIS DEFEATED IN SUBOTICA

The basketball players of Mega MIS failed to extend their winning streak, as they were defeated in a tough away game in Subotica by Spartak Office Shoes with a score of 86:110 (17:28, 23:31, 28:30, 18:21). Marko Barać’s team fell behind after the opening 10 minutes and couldn’t close the gap by halftime. In the third quarter, they responded well offensively but couldn’t match the opponent defensively, who entered the final break with a significant advantage. Mega MIS tried in every way to stage a comeback in the decisive quarter but was unsuccessful, returning from Subotica with their sixth loss of the season (6-6), while Spartak recorded their seventh victory in the 12th round (7-5).

Bogoljub Marković was the top scorer for Mega MIS with 23 points (PIR 23), while Kosta Kondić scored 17. They were followed by Andrija Jelavić with 15 points (5 rebounds, PIR 20) and Jack Kayil with 10 points (6 assists).

For the winning side, Devona Daniels scored 18 points, Rasir Bolton added 15, Luka Cerovina and Danilo Nikolić each scored 13, Umoja Gibson had 12, while Dalibor Ilić, Dušan Miletić, and Stefan Momirov each contributed 10 points.

Spartak imposed their rhythm from the start and gained a double-digit lead just over five minutes into the game. Mega responded well at the end of the opening quarter and managed to halve the deficit thanks to eight points from Marković. However, the home team restored their double-digit lead by the first break. Barać’s team held them off for a while, but in the final minutes of the first half, the difference grew to 19 points (59:40 for Spartak).

Mega MIS managed to raise their offensive level after halftime, reducing the deficit significantly following five consecutive points by Kyle. However, Spartak responded and pushed their lead back over 20 points, making it clear that Mega was in an unenviable position. Despite all efforts from Barać’s young team, they couldn’t make a significant dent in Spartak’s advantage and will return home from Dudova Šuma with a defeat.

In the next, 13th round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will host Cibona, with the match scheduled for Friday, December 12, at 6:00 PM.
