MEGA MIS JUNIORS WIN EUROLEAGUE QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT IN ISTANBUL!
The Mega MIS juniors triumphed at the EuroLeague qualifying tournament in Istanbul, defeating the Next Generation team in the final with a score of 86:70 (23:17, 21:23, 21:13, 21:17). Milan Vidosavljević’s squad started the game strong, taking the lead in the opening 10 minutes. A fierce battle ensued, but Mega MIS managed to maintain their advantage until halftime. After the break, the young Mega players elevated their performance, securing a double-digit lead that they comfortably held onto during the decisive quarter to claim a well-deserved victory.
With this win, the Mega MIS juniors have earned their ninth appearance at the EuroLeague Final Tournament, a title they claimed in Belgrade in 2022, and were runners-up in 2017 and 2019.
Once again, Ognjen Srzentić shined, coming just three assists shy of a triple-double. He finished the game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and an efficiency index of 33. Pavle Bačko also recorded a double-double, tallying 18 points and 10 rebounds for an index of 29. They were supported by Vuk Danilović with 10 points and Nikola Karalić, who added 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Srzentić’s outstanding performances earned him the MVP award, and he, along with Bačko, was named to the tournament’s All-Star Five in Istanbul.
Mega MIS won the qualifying tournament with a perfect record, becoming the first team to secure a spot in the EuroLeague Junior Final Tournament. Before their victory over the Next Generation team in the final, they emerged victorious in group play against Panathinaikos, Venezia, and hosts Bahçeşehir.
