MEGA MIS JUNIORS BEGIN THE FIGHT FOR THE JUNIOR EUROLEAGUE FINAL TOURNAMENT

The Mega MIS junior team have departed to Istanbul for the ANGT Qualifying Tournament of the Junior Euroleague. The champion of the final tournament from the 2021/22 season is placed in Group A, alongside Italian Venice, Turkish Bahçeşehir, and Greek Panathinaikos. They will play their first game against the Athens club on Friday at 7:00 AM Serbian time, or 9:00 AM Turkish time. On the same day, they will face Venice at 4:00 PM Serbian time. The last game of the group stage will be played on Saturday at 1:45 PM Serbian time against Bahçeşehir.

The coach of the Mega MIS youth team, Milan Vidosavljević, will have the following 12 players available: Dušan Odalović, Lun Jarc, Rastko Obradović, Aleksa Stiković, Vuk Danilović, Nikola Karalić, Vukašin Muškić, Pavle Bačko, Đorđe Gnjato, Ognjen Srzentić, Vid Krunić, Petar Ostojić.

Vidosavljević shared his expectations ahead of this tournament:

“We are playing another semi-final tournament in just seven days; after the ABA, the ANGT tournament is next. We’ll play our first match at 7 in the morning, which is certainly a bit unusual for us, and on that first day, we’ll play two games. These are all things that are somewhat specific in terms of preparation, and we need to adjust quickly. Our focus is only on our first opponent, which is the Panathinaikos team,” said the Mega MIS Juniors coach, adding that despite the absence of the captain, the team would aim to give their best performances:

“We have some issues with the lineup; our captain Nikola Božilović sustained a broken nose in the previous game and unfortunately won’t be able to help us. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he returns soon. The rest of the guys are ready, and I expect us to bring the energy from our practices and give our best in every game. We will take it one game at a time and try to show our best basketball.”

In Group B, Gran Canaria, Efes, Fenerbahçe, and the Istanbul NextGen team will play.

The winners of each group will qualify for the final and compete for a spot in the Junior Euroleague ANGT final tournament.”
