BARAĆ: “WE COULDN’T FIND A SOLUTION TO IGOKEA’S TOUGHNESS”

The basketball players of Mega MIS were unable to secure a victory in the 6th round of the ABA League, as they were defeated by Igokea 64-73 (11-15, 19-24, 19-18, 15-16) at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. Marko Barać’s team fought hard, constantly breathing down the neck of their much more experienced rival, but couldn’t break through Igokea’s resistance. After six rounds, they now hold a 4-2 record, the same as the team from Laktaši.

Mega MIS coach Marko Barać shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

It was a well-deserved victory for Igokea. I’d like to congratulate them on a very good game. We more or less anticipated what to expect in terms of their toughness, the way they play, and how they would try to counter us. We couldn’t find a solution to their toughness. They stayed physical throughout the game, disrupting us in organizing our offense, which is something we need to work on. We even tried using three point guards to play more organized, more fluidly, to get the ball moving more in our offense, but nothing worked in that area, and the result is what it is. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and there’s always much to learn from each loss, especially when the team is this young and inexperienced. We need to get back to the gym, correct our shortcomings, and work hard to be better in the future. As for Igokea, they are a well-organized and well-coached club, and they showed that today. I wish them all the best in the ABA League and the FIBA Champions League,” said Barać.

In the next, 7th round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will visit Budućnost in Podgorica, with the match scheduled for Sunday, November 3, at 7:00 p.m.
