BARAĆ: “THE KIDS DID A GREAT JOB, LET’S KEEP BUILDING OUR GAME IN GOOD SPIRITS”
Mega MIS basketball players secured their second ABA League win, defeating FMP at Ranko Žeravica Hall 83:80 (17:24, 21:21, 19:17, 26:18). Coach Marko Barać’s team trailed most of the game but managed to reduce the deficit and turn the game around in the final quarter. In the end, Mega’s young team remained calm at the free-throw line, securing their first home victory of the season and improving their record to 2-0.
Mega’s players faced a tough opponent, as FMP was composed of experienced players selected to compete in two competitions. Despite this challenge, Barać’s team fought hard. After the match, Barać expressed his pride in his players’ efforts at the post-game press conference:
“I would like to congratulate the players on a big win. FMP is a team selected for two competitions, consisting of players with tremendous experience, and it’s very difficult to play against them. On top of that, if we consider the fact that we played without our most experienced player in terms of minutes in the ABA league, and he is only 20 years old, it becomes clear how well these kids did. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We want to keep building our game with good energy, play more fluidly, and work on other weaknesses. I wish the team from Železnik the best of luck in the continuation of the competition,” Barać said.
In the next round, Mega MIS will face Dubai’s team in the third round of the ABA League. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5th, at 5:00 PM at Coca-Cola Arena.
