MEGA MIS CONCLUDES U.S. TOUR WITH A LOSS
The basketball players of Mega MIS suffered their second loss on the American tour ahead of the new season. In another preseason game in Santa Cruz, Marko Barać’s team lost to the NBA G League All-Star team with a score of 66-99.
The top scorers for Mega MIS were Andrija Jelavic and Filip Jović, each with 16 points, and Jović also collected seven rebounds. They were followed by Kosta Kondić and Bogoljub Marković, who each scored eight points, while Jack Kyle tallied seven points and seven assists.
“We entered the game very poorly, and they took a big lead. We tried to catch up with them. We started the second half a bit more solidly, but it wasn’t enough, and I congratulate the G League team on the victory. This is a great experience for us. Considering we are a very young team, most of us played against such a strong team for the first time, and it will surely serve us well for the rest of the season,” said Mega MIS player Filip Jović.
Unlike the first game, played two days ago, where uncertainty reigned for three quarters, this time the team made up of players fighting for NBA contracts managed to pull away earlier.
By the end of the first quarter, the difference was +16 in favor of the home team, which continued to increase their lead, so after the first half, it was +27 for the NBA G League All-Star team, and soon after the break, everything became clear.
“They started strong; we tried to catch up with them, but unfortunately, we didn’t succeed. I congratulate their team on the victory. For me and all of us, this trip is a great experience. I don’t think any of us have played against such a team before. We learned some things, and now we’ll be even better prepared for the start of the ABA League,” said Mega MIS player Urban Kroflič.
Barać’s players were supported from the stands by the Serbian community, and during halftime, the Cultural and Artistic Society put on a spectacle for those present by performing a traditional kolo dance.
