MEGA MIS LOST TO THE G LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM IN THEIR FIRST PRE-SEASON GAME IN UNITED STATES

The basketball team Mega MIS suffered their first defeat in preparations for the new season. Marko Barać’s team lost to the G League All-Star team with a score of 99-81 in a game played in Santa Cruz.

For Mega MIS, Kosta Kondić was the top scorer with 22 points, followed by Bogoljub Marković with 18, while Timotej Malovec added nine points.

This is a new experience for all of us. I think we did some good things during much of the game, everything we’ve been training for the past month. Against these guys, you can’t afford any mistakes. In the first half, we had a single-digit number of turnovers, but we ended the game with 24. I think that was crucial for the final score. We entered the game with more respect than necessary, but in the next game, which is coming up soon, we need to be tougher,” said Mega MIS player Kosta Kondić.

Before the game, a short film dedicated to Dejan Milojević was shown, and former NBA player, now a consultant with the Golden State Warriors, Zaza Pachulia, presented a Warriors jersey from San Francisco to his son, Nikola Milojević, now a member of the Mega MIS coaching staff.

Mega started the game better. After two and a half minutes, Barać’s team had an eight-point lead, with the score at 11-3. After that, the home team made a 15-0 run and took the lead for the first time.

The game was close until the end of the third quarter when Marko Barać’s team was down by three points. Then, in a short time, they conceded five points, and the G League All-Star team had an eight-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

In the last quarter, the home team had more energy and, after two minutes, reached a double-digit lead for the first time. At that point, it became clear that the G League All-Star team would secure the win.

I’m satisfied with how we held on for three quarters. This is all new for us, the basketball is completely different. It’s important to see the mistakes, correct them, and be ready for the next game. As for the organization, everything is excellent. Everything is up to us on the court, we have no worries,” said Mega MIS player Bogoljub Marković after the game.

Mega MIS: Kayil 5 (6 as), Jelavić 6 (7 rebs, 4 as), Marković 18 (5 rebs), Kondić 22 (5 rebs), Malovec 9, Jović 4, Petrović 6, Milijašević 3, Kroflič 5, Macura 3, Milenković, Milutinović, Tanasković, Vukčević

The next game between Mega MIS and the G League All-Star team is scheduled for the night between Friday and Saturday, at 4:00 AM Serbian time, with live coverage on NBA TV.
