FIVE FORMER MEGA MIS BASKETBALL PLAYERS REPRESENTING SERBIA AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES IN PARIS

Mega MIS is globally known as a factory of basketball talents and a club that has affirmed a large number of players for the biggest stage, producing many national team players.

This summer, five former Mega MIS basketball players will represent Serbia at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The Basketball Federation of Serbia has announced the final roster for the upcoming tournament in Lille and Paris. Nikola Jokić, Vasilije Micić, Nikola Jović, Filip Petrušev, and Uroš Plavšić, all of whom have worn Mega’s pink jersey during their careers, will compete for Olympic medals.

After three years at Mega, Nikola Jokić has grown into one of the best players in the world, a three-time MVP, and an NBA champion.

Vasilije Micić took his first professional steps at Mega, spending four years at the club. Over time, he grew into a EuroLeague MVP and two-time winner of the competition. Today, like Jokić, he is in the NBA.

Similarly, Nikola Jović was selected in the 2022 NBA Draft as the 27th pick while still a Mega player, and last summer, he won a silver medal at the World Championship in Manila with the national team.

Part of the silver team from the Philippines was also Filip Petrušev, who, after a season at Mega, became a EuroLeague champion with Anadolu Efes. He has also played for Crvena Zvezda and Olympiacos in the EuroLeague, as well as for Philadelphia and Sacramento in the NBA.

Uroš Plavšić made his debut in the ABA League last season and left a great impression, convincing coach Svetislav Pešić to give him the opportunity to debut at the Olympic Games.

Good luck in Paris, boys!
