BARAĆ: “WE SHOWED A GOOD REACTION, I AM GLAD THAT THE PLAYERS ACCEPT THESE CHALLENGES WITHOUT FEAR – I HOPE IT WILL BE THE SAME IN THE DECIDER”
The Mega MIS basketball team managed to force a decider in the Super League of Serbia semifinal series, as they defeated Partizan Mozzart Bet 92:88 (18:28, 23:19, 26:15, 25:26) in the second game played at TC Dejan Milojević. Marko Barać’s team fell behind early in the game but gradually gained momentum and reduced the deficit. They didn’t manage to erase it by halftime but turned things around in the third quarter. They finished the mentioned period strong and started the decisive quarter well, gaining a double-digit lead. Ultimately, they repelled the opponent’s attacks and recorded a significant victory to make the series 1-1.
Mega MIS head coach Marko Barać shared his thoughts after the game:
“We made some adjustments compared to the game at the Arena, which also wasn’t bad from our side. We needed the first quarter to get a feel for the environment, as we have only played here once this season. But we showed a good reaction and concentration from the second quarter to the end of the game. Every game against Partizan, a great club that is excellently coached, is a big lesson for these young players and an experience for all of us. I am glad they accept these challenges well, without fear, and I hope it will be the same in the decider. It certainly won’t be easy, and Partizan’s great players will react and prepare. I expect a good fight from our side and definitely an interesting game. I congratulate Partizan on the fight and my players on the victory,” said Barać.
Mega MIS player Andrija Jelavić expressed satisfaction with the triumph and emphasized that the team will strive to play even better in the decisive game of the Super League of Serbia semifinal series.
“A big win for us. We didn’t give up after the loss; we believed in ourselves. There were ups and downs; we are a young team, but we can be satisfied with the victory. There are things we need to work on, and we will certainly improve them in these three days before the third game, and I have no doubt it will look very good,” added Jelavić.
The third and deciding match will be played on Thursday, May 30, at 18:00, with Partizan hosting Mega MIS again.
