MEGA MIS VISITS CRVENA ZVEZDA AT THE START OF THE ABA LEAGUE SEMIFINALS, BARAĆ: “LET’S PLAY GOOD BASKETBALL”
The Mega MIS basketball players achieved huge success by reaching the semifinals of the ABA League playoffs, and now they face a series against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet for the finals. In the opening match of the semifinal showdown, Marko Barać’s chosen ones will visit the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall, the former finalists. The match is scheduled for Friday, May 3, at 7:00 PM, with a live broadcast on TV Arena Sport.
Mega MIS coach Marko Barać shared his impressions ahead of the first semifinal duel with Crvena Zvezda:
“We are expecting a game against a team with championship aspirations and a big favorite. Compared to the previous part of the season, they have been strengthened by the top-notch playmaker Topić, which makes our job even harder. Despite all the personnel problems, we want to play good basketball, which we have been doing all season, and be ready to seize every opportunity that arises,” said Barać.
Mega MIS player Stefan Miljenović emphasizes that the team will do everything to compensate for the absences, especially that of captain Uroš Plavšić:
“We are expecting a game against a very strong and quality team of Crvena Zvezda. We have used the break until the start of the semifinal series to train to the maximum, and although weakened by the absence of captain Plavšić and a few other players due to injury, we enter the game aware of our qualities and I hope that if we manage to translate the ideas of the coaching staff onto the court, there will be a good and quality game,” added Miljenović.
Mega MIS eliminated Cedevita Olimpija in the quarterfinals in two games (2:0). They faced Crvena Zvezda twice in the league part of the competition, and at the end of March, they even defeated the Red and Whites 83:89 at the Belgrade Arena.
The rematch is scheduled for May 7th at 8:00 PM, and Mega will host Crvena Zvezda at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. If necessary, the deciding game will be played on May 10th, and the home-court advantage will be with the Red and Whites.
