MEGA MIS AGAINST VOJVODINA IN QUARTERFINALS OF RADIVOJ KORAĆ CUP, BARAĆ: “THE BEST POSSIBLE OPPONENT TO BE COMPETITIVELY READY FROM THE FIRST DAY”
The draw for the quarterfinals of the Radivoj Korać Cup, which will once again take place in the Čair Arena in Niš, has been conducted, and Mega MIS will face Vojvodina as their opponent. The remaining pairs include Crvena zvezda – FMP, Partizan – Hercegovac, Borac – Čačak 94. The quarterfinals are scheduled for February 14th and 15th, with the semifinals on Friday, February 16th, and the final on Saturday, February 17th.
Coach of Mega MIS, Marko Barać, shared his impressions after the draw:
“Like every time, a very interesting quarterfinal for us. The best possible opponent to be competitively ready from the first day. The Cup competition is specific and gives hope to everyone that they can go all the way. Step by step. From this moment on, we start thinking, when it comes to the Cup, only about Vojvodina, to prepare ourselves in the best possible way and play the best game we can. If we pass, we will think about the next steps. It will be challenging, and my job is to psychologically prepare the players for what an elimination game brings. Surely a different kind of pressure than in the league phase. There are several players with experience from last year’s Cup, and three-quarters of the players will play in this competition for the first time, and we are all eager to see how they will cope with all of it,” said Barać.
Uroš Plavšić will be one of the many players from Mega MIS making his debut at the Radivoj Korać Cup:
“We just need to focus on the first game against Vojvodina, which is a very good team. I am very excited, about making my first appearance at the Radivoj Korać Cup. It will be a great experience for me, as well as for the entire team. A significant number of guys will play in the Cup for the first time, and we can’t wait for it to start. We’ve talked a lot about it, but there are still a few more games in the season before that, and that’s what we are focused on before going to Niš. We will be ready as a team; the coach has experience with that, the entire management knows how the whole competition works, and I know they will prepare us in the best possible way,” added Plavšić.
Regarding the match schedule, Mega MIS will face Vojvodina for the semifinals on Thursday, February 15th, at 17:00, and the tournament structure is such that the winner will face the better team from the duel between Partizan and Hercegovac (Thursday, 21:00).
Mega MIS reached the final of the Radivoj Korać Cup for the fifth time last year, and in 2016, they won the trophy at the Čair Arena.
