MEGA MIS MEETS PARTIZAN ON MONDAY, BARAĆ: “I BELIEVE WE WILL ALL TOGETHER MEMORABLY HONOR DEJAN”
After four consecutive victories, Mega MIS’s basketball team faces the defending champions, Partizan Mozzart Bet, in the 17th round of the ABA League. The match is scheduled for Monday, January 22, at 7:00 PM in the Štark Arena. This game is dedicated to the memory of the great Dejan Milojević, who left an indelible mark on both clubs.
Mega MIS head coach Marko Barać emphasized in the preview of the match that Milojević’s premature departure deeply shook everyone in the club. He believes that the upcoming game will serve to appropriately commemorate the celebrated Serbian representative, former Partizan basketball player, and coach who, during his remarkable eight years at the helm of Mega, won the Radivoj Korać Cup, secured numerous victories, and set many players on the right path:
“Last week, we lost Dejan Milojević, which is an irreplaceable loss for Mega and the entire basketball world. His premature departure has greatly affected everyone, and preparing for the game in such an atmosphere was extremely challenging. Despite that, my players managed to stay focused and fully engaged in training, and I am particularly grateful to them for that. It’s unnecessary to talk about the exceptional quality of Partizan and coach Željko Obradović, and they will certainly approach this match with high commitment, aiming to avoid any uncertain outcome. We need to approach the game with a lot of energy and defensive aggression, staying focused throughout all 40 minutes. We cannot afford empty minutes in the game because Partizan will surely capitalize on that. I believe the audience will have the opportunity to witness a good and exciting game, and together we will honor Dejan’s memory in a beautiful way,” said Barać.
Mega MIS defeated Partizan in the first part of the season, with one of the key players in the triumph over the titleholder being Uroš Plavšić. The Mega center is aware of the task’s difficulty facing his team but is ready to fight for another victory:
“We expect a very tough match against the excellent EuroLeague team, Partizan. This will be our third encounter this season, and despite a few changes in their lineup, we know them very well. We’ve done everything necessary to prepare well for the game, and we’ll give our all to try to achieve a positive result,” added Plavšić.
Mega MIS gave Partizan a good fight in the ABA Super Cup at the beginning of the season (78:89) and then defeated them 88:86 in the 4th round of the regional competition. The upcoming clash comes in excellent form for Mega with a record of 9-7, while the city rival stands at 12-4.
