MEGA MIS SECURES FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN OVER FMP

Mega MIS secured their fourth consecutive victory by defeating FMP SoccerBet at Ranko Zeravica sports hall with a score of 86-72 (23-18, 23-14, 22-18, 18-22) in the 16th round of the ABA League. Under the guidance of coach Marko Barać, Mega MIS players took control towards the end of the first quarter, establishing a comfortable lead by halftime. They maintained this advantage in the third quarter and extended it to a 20-point lead. Mega controlled the game, securing a well-deserved triumph and improving their record to 9-7, while FMP remained at five wins (5-11).

Omercan Ilyasoglu delivered an outstanding performance, leading Mega with 20 points and coming close to a double-double with seven assists. Uroš Plavšić continued his excellent form with 19 points (PIR 21), and the key tandem was complemented by Filip Jović, who concluded the match with 12 points.

In FMP’s team, Vojislav Stojanović was the top scorer with 13 points, followed by Kyle Foster with 12, and Nikola Šaranović contributed 10.

FMP had a slightly better start, holding a lead midway through the first quarter. However, Mega’s Ilyasoglu and Plavšić took charge, and a three-pointer from Malovec secured Mega a 23-18 lead by the end of the first quarter. Barać’s team continued their strong performance, building a double-digit lead after three minutes of play in the second quarter. They maintained this lead, increased the intensity towards the end, and went into halftime with a comfortable 14-point advantage (46-32).

Plavšić, after scoring 11 points in the first half, added four more at the start of the third quarter. Ilyasoglu then hit three consecutive three-pointers, thwarting any comeback attempts by the opponents. Mega maintained a double-digit lead, entering the final break with a substantial advantage of 68-50. The lead expanded to 20 points early in the decisive quarter, indicating Mega’s imminent triumph. Although FMP managed to reduce the deficit, they couldn’t seriously challenge Mega’s lead. Mega comfortably closed out the game, continuing their winning streak.

In the next round of the ABA League, Mega MIS will face the defending champions, Partizan Mozzart Beta, with the game scheduled for Monday, January 22, at 19:00 in Belgrade’s Štark Arena.
