MEGA MIS BETTER THAN BORAC IN ČAČAK FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE TRIUMPH IN THE ABA LEAGUE

Mega MIS basketball players continued with excellent performances and results, securing their third consecutive victory in the 15th round of the ABA League against Borac Mozzart in Čačak with a score of 78-94 (18-30, 20-13, 21-25, 19-26). Marko Barać’s chosen ones established a significant lead at the end of the first and the beginning of the second quarter, but the home team managed to narrow it down by halftime. The third quarter saw a fierce battle, but Mega’s players dominated the final moments, maintaining a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter and deservedly securing the win. With this victory, they achieved a positive record of 8-7, while Borac suffered its eighth defeat (7-8).

Andrija Jelavić played an excellent match, leading Mega with 22 points and seven rebounds, earning the highest PIR in the game with 26. Uroš Plavšić, after an outstanding performance in the decisive quarter, was the team’s second scorer with 16 points and six rebounds. Other players who contributed to the double-digit score were Petar Kovačević with 13 points (five rebounds), Omercan Ilyasoglu with 11 points, and Stefan Miljenović and Nikola Đurišić with 10 points each.

In Borac’s team, Ronaldo Segu stood out with 17 points, followed by Danilo Tasić with 12, and Tylan Birts, Bojan Tomašević, and Javon Franklin, who each scored 11 points.

Mega MIS had a strong start, taking a 2-10 lead after five consecutive points from Jelavić and Gnjidić. Borac responded and closed the gap to 11-12, but Mega maintained the lead. In the last 37 seconds of the first quarter, Mega scored eight consecutive points, ending the first quarter with an 18-30 lead. Barać’s team opened the second quarter with seven more points, extending the lead to 18-37. However, Borac awakened after a timeout, making a 20-4 run to completely get back into the game. Mega preserved the lead, and the halftime score was 38-43.

Once again, Mega MIS dominated the beginning of the third quarter, securing a double-digit lead after consecutive three-pointers from Đurišić and Jelavić (45-55). Barać’s team maintained the advantage, and with two crucial three-pointers from Kovačević at the end of the third quarter, they entered the decisive 10 minutes with a 59-68 lead. Kovačević hit another three-pointer at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and Plavšić followed with four points for a 61-75 lead in favor of Mega. Borac tried to make a comeback, but after two three-pointers from Jelavić, the outcome was clear. Plavšić sealed the victory with five points and a block.

In the next round, Mega MIS will host FMP Soccerbet at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall on Sunday, January 14, at noon.
