BARAC: “THE WIN FEELS GOOD, VERY SATISFIED WITH THE WAY WE PLAYED, BUT WE NEED TO IMPROVE EVEN FURTHER IN THE UPCOMING ROUNDS”
Basketball players of Mega MIS continued with excellent performances and results, as they celebrated on the road in Čačak against Borac Mozzart in the 15th round of the ABA League with a score of 78:94 (18:30, 20:13, 21:25, 19:26). Marko Barać’s chosen ones gained a significant advantage at the end of the first and the beginning of the second quarter, but the host managed to melt it by halftime. A great battle ensued in the third quarter, but the finish belonged to Mega’s players, who then persistently repelled Borac’s attacks in the fourth quarter, maintained a comfortable lead, and ultimately deservedly celebrated. This brought them back to a positive balance of 8-7, while the team from Čačak suffered their eighth defeat (7-8).
Coach Marko Barać shared his impressions after the third consecutive victory in the regional competition:
“Certainly, the win feels good because Borac is an outstanding team. They made a selection according to the taste of coach Mijatović, who is doing an excellent job with them. They have a very good season, and that makes our victory even greater. I am very satisfied with the way we played tonight. It is challenging for a young team to maintain a high rhythm and level of concentration for 40 minutes. Falls like in the second quarter are somewhat expected. The host managed to prevent the ball movement at that time, leading to a large number of lost possessions. But except for that period, many things went in our favor. Above all, rebounding dominance, and ball movement through a large number of assists, and I can certainly be satisfied. We need to continue even better, with good training as before. We will need even better performances in some upcoming rounds. I wish the host all the best in the continuation,” said Barać.
Mega MIS will host FMP Soccerbet in the next round at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, and the match is scheduled for Sunday, January 14, at noon.
