MEGA MIS BID FAREWELL TO 2023 BY HOSTING CEDEVITA OLIMPIJA, BARAC: “WITH GOOD ENERGY AND AGGRESSIVE DEFENSE, WE CAN FIGHT FOR A POSITIVE RESULT”

The last match of 2023 and the first in the second part of the current season in the ABA League awaits the players of Mega MIS. Marko Barać’s team will host the Slovenian champions Cedevita Olimpija at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, with the game scheduled for Sunday, December 31, at noon. Entrance is free, and tickets can be picked up at the arena box office from 11:00 until the start of the match.

Coach Marko Barać shared his expectations and addressed significant changes in the team, as Nikola Topić departed, and Lovro Gnjidić took his place:

We are facing a very quality and experienced team, Cedevita Olimpija, which delivers its best performances in the ABA League, as evidenced by their second place in the table. In the meantime, we underwent significant changes in the roster; Topić left for Crvena Zvezda, and what awaits us in the upcoming period is working on redistributing roles where some players will have to step up and take on even greater responsibility. We trained well this week, and I expect good work to be transferred to the game, which requires a concentrated approach from the very start. With good energy on the court and aggressive defense, I believe we can fight for a positive result. This is a very important game for us in the continuation of the ABA League, and I hope the audience will recognize and support us in large numbers,” said Barać.

Team member Uroš Plavšić believes Mega can achieve a positive result:

We expect a tough match against a very good and experienced team. We trained qualitatively, and it will be necessary to approach the game in the right way and give our best to achieve a positive result. I invite the audience to support us in as large numbers as possible, and we believe that with our game on the court, we can repay them,” added Plavšić.

After the first part of the season, Mega MIS has a record of 6-7, while Cedevita Olimpija is second in the standings with only three losses (10-3). In the first part of the season, the team from Ljubljana had more luck in a close finish, defeating Barać’s team 89:87.
