MEGA’S FIRST 25 YEARS

With a celebratory triangular game, KK Mega MIS marked its jubilee – 25 years of existence. Over a quarter of a century since its founding, this club has evolved from the basketball section of the Paper Products Factory into a collective with 15 players drafted into the NBA, a record among clubs outside the American continent. A noteworthy achievement for Mega is producing double NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, who has also secured an NBA championship ring and the Finals MVP award.

Mega has transitioned from the concrete league to elite domestic competitions in just seven years. Since 2013, it has been a regular participant in regional competitions, and its first and only trophy so far was won in 2016 in the Radivoj Korać Cup.

The traditional gathering under the hoops at the “Mega Factory” arena brought together the Mega first team, members of the coaching staff, Art basketball players, as well as numerous sponsors and friends of the club. They were divided into three teams – Mega, Art, and MIS. Former national team players Vule Avdalović, Aleksandar Rašić, Goran Ćakić, and Novica Veličković, who once again showed that form and age are temporary but class is eternal, attracted special attention on the court. The result was secondary, with many spectacular moves defining the matches, and in the end, the Art team triumphed.

Everything was complemented by a three-point shooting competition in pairs, where the most successful basketball agent in this region, Miodrag Ražnatović, participated. In the final, paired with Jan Vesic, they secured victory over Milano Milosevski and Nevena Rosic.

On this occasion, Mega also promoted the 2024 calendar, featuring a wealth of attractive photos showcasing 25 years of history and numerous stars who have been part of the club in the past.
