U15 BANJICA MEGA WENT TO OVERTIME IN A GREAT MATCH AGAINST MLADOST BUT EVENTUALLY LOST IN THE F8 TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS
The pioneers of Banjica Mega and Mladost fought bravely in a fantastic match in the semifinals of the F8 tournament of Serbia. Still, after 45 minutes, they got defeated in the Basket City Sports Hall, 108:106 (18:23, 21:19, 25:27, 32: 27, 12:10). Dejan Pejić’s players were losing by six points with half a minute to go, but Vuk Danilović restored hope to his team with a long-range three-pointer. Then Aleksa Stiković reduced the deficit to just one point so that Danilović won extra time in the last seconds. There was a big fight in the additional five minutes, the young guns of Banjica Mega had an attack to win, but Danilović’s shot in the last seconds wasn’t good…
In the end, Vuk Danilović failed to be the absolute hero of his team, but he once again showed his scoring abilities and ended the semifinal meeting with 39 points. The most valuable player was Aleksa Stiković, with 30 points and six rebounds for a PIR of 25, while Đorđe Lilić added 14 points with eight rebounds.
Petar Bjelica recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Ilija Radonjić was one point away from a double-double with ten boards.
The pioneers of Banjica Mega will not fight for the title, but on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., they will have a match for third place against their peers from Partizan, also in the Basket City Sports Hall.
