INCREDIBLE COMEBACK OF U17 MEGA MIS AGAINST BORAC FOR THE FINAL TOURNAMENT OF THE TRIGLAV CADET LEAGUE OF SERBIA

The U17 Mega MIS team qualified for the finals of the F8 tournament of the Triglav Cadet League of Serbia, as they defeated their peers from Borac Mozart 60:66 (22:17, 14:8, 12:11, 12:30) in the semi-finals after a remarkable turnaround. Petar Radonjić’s team looked for a rhythm for a long time and found themselves behind by as much as 18 points near the end of the third period—a frenzy of 19 unanswered points followed by Mega’s young guns. In the last 12 minutes, Radonjić’s players scored as many as 36 points (30 in the decisive period), compared to 30 in almost three periods (28 minutes), and thus achieved a remarkable turnaround and victory.

Abdramane Siby was again the most deserving of the victory with 19 points and as many as 16 rebounds, which earned him the title of player of the match with a PIR of 32. Ognjen Srzentić accompanied him with 13 points and seven rebounds, Ognjen Nikolić with 12 points and six caught balls, and Ian Lazarevski with 11 points.

The cadets of Mega MIS will thus defend the title in the final against their peers from Partizan, and the match that will determine the champion for the 2022/23 season is scheduled for Sunday, April 30, from 6 p.m. in Stark Arena.
