JOVANOVIC AHEAD OF THE SEMIFINALS: “TO MATCH STRENGTH AND CONTACT OF ZVEZDA”

Mega Mozzart will continue the competition at this year’s “Triglav osiguranje Radivoj Korac Cup” in Nis on Saturday at 5 pm, where they will meet Crvena zvezda mts in the semifinals. Mega will fight for its fifth final of the national cup, which is on the program on Sunday at 9 pm in SC Cair.

On Thursday, Mega was convincing in the quarterfinals against Zlatibor with 84:57, and before the semifinal duel, coach Vladimir Jovanovic pointed out that his team must match the strength and contact of Crvena zvezda:

– We have already played two games with Crvena zvezda in the ABA league, the second of which was less than two weeks ago. I have already mentioned that this is a very high-quality team whose core team consists of very good Serbian players, most of whom have been or will be in the national team. The team is quite defensively oriented, they play a very solid defense on their part of the field and through that they are looking for their own rhythm for the game. Given our youth and inexperience, if we want to play a game against Crvena zvezda, the most important thing is to match the strength and contact that are very necessary to play a game with them,

said Jovanovic.

Mega Mozzart’s basketball player Samson Ruzhentsev stated that his team has played twice with the Crvena zvezda this season and that they know each other well:

– Our next step is the semifinals and the game against Crvena zvezda for which we are preparing. They are probably the main favorites to win the cup and it is certain that a difficult match awaits us. We come from a good game against Zlatibor, we have played with Crvena zvezda twice this year and we know each other well. Access, concentration and energy must be at the highest level during all 40 minutes of the game if we want to get a chance to make a surprise,

Ruzentsev pointed out.

Mega Mozzart played four times in the Radivoj Korac Cup finals, winning the trophy in 2016.
