MEGA ON MONDAY AGAINST CIBONA IN ZAGREB, FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF THE GOOD START OF ABA
On Monday, October 4, at 6 pm, Mega Basket will be a guest of the Cibona in Zagreb within the 2nd round of the AdmiralBet ABA league. The match will be played at the Drazen Petrović Sports Center with a live broadcast at the Arena Sport, and both teams will enter the duel after great games and victories in the first round.
Before the duel against Cibona, Mega’s coach Vladimir Jovanovic stated that it is a duel between two young teams where energy and running go without saying:
– A young and promising team is waiting for us, which has already shown quality games in the preparation period, and then confirmed them in the first round against Mornar in Bar, where they provided a notable game at both ends of the field. Cibona in this line-up has been functioning for two years with very few changes, and I think that my colleague Vlada Jovanovic is doing a very good job. A physically demanding match awaits us, it is a duel of two young teams where energy and just running go without saying. We have to be ready to concentrate for 40 minutes and respond with the right idea and good solutions in the game,
said coach of Mega.
Mega Basket and Cibona have met 16 times so far in the regional competition with a score of 10-6 in favor of Mega. In the last match between these two teams in the 16th round of last season, Mega celebrated at home with 72:71. In the first round of the AdmiralBet ABA league, both teams recorded a victory as Mega was convincing at home against SC Derby with 101:68, while Cibona celebrated against Mornar in Bar with 77:87.
Mega’s Power Forward Borisa Simanic pointed out that Cibona plays a similar fast basketball as Mega and that his team must play solidly in defense:
– It is certain that a difficult match awaits us in Zagreb. Cibona has a very young and talented team and they play similar fast basketball as us. First of all, we have to play solid in defense and keep our concentration at a high level throughout the game. If we succeed in that, I believe we can achieve another victory that would surely mean a lot to us,
said Simanic.
