JUNIORS OF MEGA BEAT BUDUCNOST IN THE U19 ABA FINALS!

Mega Soccerbet juniors won the second title in the club’s history in the U19 ABA junior league after beating the team Buducnost VOLI with 83:92 (20:32, 28:12, 18:26, 17:22) in the finals of the tournament held which was hedl in Cajetina. Coach Dragoljub Avramović’s team started the game with a great run of 17:0, Buducnost managed to come back and lead at the halftime, but in the continuation of the game, Mega’s players from good defense and counterattacks deservedly won the second trophy of the season.

The most efficient in the ranks of Mega’s juniors were Nikola Jovic with 25 points and Nikola Djurisic with 22. In the Buducnost, Erey Bujukcangaz stood out with 19 points.

Nikola Jovic was declared as the MVP of the tournament, and besides him, Nikola Djurisic and Petar Kovacevic were in the All-Tournament team.

This was the second title for Mega in the ABA Junior League after the one won in 2018 in the premiere season in Laktasi, and this is also the second title this season for Mega’s juniors since they became Serbian champions two weeks ago with convincing games at the F8 Junior F8 tournament of Roda Junior League of Serbia.

The season is not over for the juniors of Mega, as they are expected to participate in the final tournament of the Junior Euroleague from June 3 to 6 in Valencia.

After winning the ABA junior title, Mega’s junior coach Dragoljub Avramovic pointed out that his team made an effort to be the best in the finals of the competition:

– We deserved this trophy and we worked hard all season and tried to be the best in the finals. I was not surprised either by the first place in Serbia or now by the first place in the ABA league. I hope that in this atmosphere and with this desire to compete, we will go to Valencia for the F8 Junior Euroleague and try to make the best possible result,

said Avramovic.

Mega opened the match fantastically with a run of 17:0, but Buducnost stopped the rush of Mega with three triples, which again, through Djurisic and Jovic, returns a great advantage. The finish of the quarter belonged to the team of Buducnost, so the result after 10 minutes of the game is 20:32.

The Buducnost managed to score 7 three-pointers in 7 minutes of the second quarter and took the lead with 46:44. In the last three minutes of the period, only one more basket was seen for Buducnost, so the result at halftime was 48:44 for the blue team.

A better game in defense gave results in the third quarter, so Mega took the lead while Buducnost kept the lead with threes. Mega had plus 9 at the end of the period, and then Buducnost came to 66:70 with a run of 5:0 before the last 10 minutes of the game.

In the last quarter, Mega took control with an excellent defense and points from the counters, and in the end came to a well-deserved victory.
