Mega Soccerbet played a great match after the break due to the FIBA window, as they convincingly defeated Split with 91:75 (29:22, 11:11, 21:11, 30:31) in the 9th round of the ABA league. In the match that was played without the presence of the audience in the Hall of Sports Ranko Zeravica, the players of coach Vladimir Jovanovic controlled the game and the result practically from the end of the first quarter. The match was definitely resolved at the end of the third section when they gained a convincing advantage that amounted to a maximum of 24 points, after which Split failed to jeopardize Mega’s victory.
Unstoppable in the ranks of Mega was Filip Petrusev with as many as 32 points and 8 rebounds, and Malcolm Cazalon was also excellent with 12 points. In the Split, Sani Campara was the most efficient with 12 points.
After nine rounds of the ABA league, Mega Soccerbet has a score of 7-2, while Split has three wins and six defeats. In the next round, Mega will be a guest of Partizan NIS in the same hall, and the match is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, at 7 p.m.
Vladimir Jovanovic started the match with the following five: Tepic, Smith, Momirov, Simonovic, Petrusev. Excellent cooperation between guards and centers at the beginning of the game, where the teams took turns in the lead. The guests from Split responded to Mega’s solid game in the racket with threes, but on the other hand, Petrusev is unstoppable under the basket, where he had a strong dunk after Tepic’s assist. Neither team managed to take the lead with more than three points until the very finish, when a fantastic role of Cazalon followed, who first hit a three, then immediately stole the ball and scored for new points, and after stealing the ball and assist from Novak in the counter scored new points for result 29:22 at the end of the quarter.
Miškovic opens the second quarter with a triple, but Split responds with the same measure from the corner. After a short period without points on both sides, a fantastic “alley-up” dunking of Petrusev in the counter followed. Mega’s good and solid game in defense gives results, so after Petrusev’s tied points from the paint, the coach of Split had to request a time-out with the result of 38:27 with four and a half minutes until the end of the half. Mega was without a solution in the attack for a few minutes, Split, on the other hand, tied six points and approached to 38:33. A good start to the second half for Mega, who reached plus 12 with the points of Simonovic and Petrusev, where the guests from Split scored only one three after a lot of luck. Mega controls the jump very well, Matkovic effectively scores twice from the paint after entering the game, so that Momirov fixed his miss for 57:42 with three minutes until the end of the quarter. Mega continued with an excellent defense, and in the last minute, Petrusev scored after an offensive rebound, and then in the last second he put the ball in on Cerovina’s assist for 61:44 after 30 minutes of play.
Mega continued at a high pace in the last 10 minutes of the game, where after Cerovina’s triple, the advantage increased to 24 points, 70:46. All that Split managed to reduce the difference by the end of the game, and the only stain on the match was the injury of Matkovic in the finish, who sprained his ankle when he landed, after which he had to leave the game. In the end, Mega celebrated with a convincing 91:75.
