MILOJEVIC: “WE PLAYED A GOOD MATCH AGAINST PARTIZAN, I BELIEVE IN MY PLAYERS AND THAT WE WILL BEAT MORNAR”
Mega Bemax’s basketball players for 36 minutes were in the game, but Partizan NIS eventually celebrated with 102:88 (24:22, 19:20, 32:24, 27:22) within the the 21st round of the ABA League at Stark Arena. Mega will thus chase victory in the last round against Mornar for survival in the regional competition and avoiding play-out.
At the post-match press conference, Mega Bemax coach Dejan Milojevic emphasized that his team played a good match:
– I congratulate Partizan on the victory. I think we played a good match, we were in egal all the time. We carried on well until the main players got into a problem with persona fouls and then Partizan broke the game there. Partizan shot extremely well, 15 threes with 53 percent of the shot, and this with the control of the jump they had for sure was one of the reasons for the victory. I can not say that I am dissatisfied with how my team looked, because, after all, Partizan is a better quality team, and we were able to deal with them until the very end and keep the game interesting. I wish Partizan good luck in continuing the EuroCup and ABA League,
and when asked by reporters about the fight for the survival of multiple teams in the last round, Milojevic said he believed in his team’s victory against Mornar:
– We need to beat the Mornar to avoid the playoug, and they need a playoff win, I believe it will be an interesting game. It will be difficult for us to relegate because Krka would have to defeat Cedevita and Zadar to beat Crvena zvezda in Belgrade, which is difficult and we should need to lose to Mornar to achieve all that. We’ve gotten in shape, we’ve been playing well lately and no matter that Mornar is a better quality team, I believe in my players and we will win that match,
