MILOJEVIC: “BIG WIN FOR US, WE STOICALLY ENDURED ALL THE TOUGH MOMENTS”
Mega Bemax players had plus 19 against Igokea, but they were 3 points behind in the last 6 minutes with Marko Simonovic on the bench due to a 5th personal foul, but with a fantastic defense and a 14-0 run, they resolved the match in their favor for the final 87:76 (30:18, 19:22, 20:28, 18:8). With the sixth win this season, Mega has climbed to 9th place right now, and by the end of the ABA League will have the opportunity to avoid the play-out that will be played by the 11th-ranked team at the end of the league.
At the post-match press conference, Mega Bemax coach Dejan Milojevic emphasized that his team had stoically endured all the difficult moments and that defense was the key to victory in the end:
– First of all, this is a very difficult game and a very important victory for us. We started the match very nicely, we had a result advantage, we controlled everything. But we got into a problem with personal fouls, the quality dropped when our best and most in-form players had to go to the bench due to personal fouls. I’m really proud of the guys, we stoically endured all the tough moments, we scored the important points when the result broke and after brought the game to the end. We played great on defense in the last quarter and conceded only eight points and that was the key to victory. Going further, we want to record another win and try to avoid the play-out as well. With this triumph, we have taken a significant step towards survival, but we want to finish the work to the best of our ability,
said Milojevic.
