PLAYFUL MEGA CONVINCING AGAINST ZADAR
Mega Bemax made their first win in the ABA league this season as they beat Zadar with 98:74 (30:22, 13:18, 28:19, 27:15) in a great atmosphere at the Hall of sports Ranko Zeravica. Coach Dejan Milojevic’s players, with plenty of fluctuations in the first half, led most of the match to reach a decisive advantage in the third quarter, which Zadar was unable to compromise until the end. Blaz Mesicek made his debut for Mega, in which he had 3 assists and 1 block for 12 minutes in the game.
The most efficient in the Mega Bemax ranks were Nikola Miskovic with 18 points and Luka Asceric with 15, while double-double had Filip Stanic with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Edin Atic with 12 points and 10 rebounds. In team of Zadar stood out with Bryon Allen with 24 points.
After 3 rounds of the ABA league, Mega Bemax has 1 win and 2 defeats while Zadar has a score of 0-3. The next game of Mega Bemax will be played on Sunday, October 27th from 6 pm when they will play with Crvena zveztda mts in hall Aleksandar Nikolic.
Before the start of the match, the audience greeted the former Mega’s player Stefan Fundic with a big round of applause who was presented with a suitable gift on behalf of the club by Mega Bemax Supervisory Board President Aleksandar Seratlic.
During the breaks between quarters, spectators competed in a half-court shots for TV, a gift from Tehnomanija, but unfortunately they were not precise. At the half-time they competed at the Tehnomanija polygon.
Dejan Milojevic started the match with Asceric, Cerovina, Atic, Miskovic and Stanic. A great start for Mega, who with threes of Cerovina and Asceric led 9:0 after 3 minutes of play. Zadar scores the first points from the free throw line, but returns to the game with three pointers. However, Miskovic and Stanic score from the paint and free throw line to keep Mega ahead with 11 points. In the finish, Mega missed a few chances to separate in order for Simonovic hit three, but after a time passed, the result was 30:22 at the end of the first quarter.
Big problems in the offence for Mega at the beginning of the second quarter, which Zadar uses with 0:7 series to go just a point behind, 30:29. The guest series is interrupted by Miskovic’s brilliant dunk and then precision from the free throw line. The guests with three reached the equalizer, 34:34, but the Mega with drives manages to regain the lead, but not to increase it, so they went to half-time with 43:40.
Zadar led with 45:47 at the start of the second half, but Mega immediately responded with a brilliant 11:0 run with playful Simonovic, who had to go to the bench due to his 4th personal foul. Mega played even harder after that, with Atic and Marjanovic scoring threes, then Asceric had great drive under foul for 15-point lead, 66:51. Atic and Carapic hit floaters from difficult positions, but Gilbert with three pointer from corner set the score after the third quarter, 71:59.
Miskovic scored great at the start of the last quarter with 5 tied points. Guests used a brief crisis in Mega’s attack to down the difference to 9 points. Asceric regained the double-digit lead with three pointer, everybody played greatly in order for Stanic to put the point to the victory with dunk for 89:71 with 3 and a half minutes until the end of the match. For the remaining time, Mega increased the lead for the final plus 24.
