BAD LAST QUARTER OF MEGA, CEDEVITA WON IN SREMSKA MITROVICA

Basketball players of Mega Bemax had a great chance to win, but they played a very weak last quarter, so Cedevita finally won the match in Sremska Mitrovica with 77:81 (14:17, 12:9, 30:15, 21:40). The selectors of Dejan Milojevic’s coach, within the 6th round of the ABA League in the PSC Pinki hall, played excellent in the defense for 30 minutes, but in the last 10 minutes they relaxed in this segment and allowed a big reversal to guests from Zagreb.

Special guests of the club were participants of the free school of basketball “Mega’s 100” as well as young basketball players from KK Olimp Sekovici, who together cheered for Mega in this match.

Dejan Milojević started the match with Rebic, Ennis, Lazic, Fundic and Bitadze. At the beginning of the match Bitadze is excellent on both sides of the court, but Cedevita is the first to reach the advantage. Rebic does not allow them to go to bigger lead, so the first quarter ends with 14:17.

Mega’s players played a fantastic defense in the second quarter, where they completely closed all the way to the basket. Rebic hits triple, Bitadze continues with a good game from the first quarter with new blocks and with three pointer of Lazic, Mega leads 25:17. The guests score the first points in the quarter after 7 and a half minutes, but in the finish of the period, the defense of Mega has not been concentrated, and the result at half-time is 26:26.

After a break at the half, Rebic and Ennis started to hit from all the positions and as time passed, Mega raised plus to 17, 56:39, and the break before the last quarter was 56:41.

In the last 10 minutes, Cedevita with three pointers of Kruslin and points of Musa began to reduce the minus, so Cherry with three equalized to 73:73 before the last minute. Lazic in the next attack does not hit the triple from the corner, and in next attack Musa hit drive under a foul for plus 3 for guests from Zagreb. Ennis is fouled, hits both free throws, but on the other side is also precise Musa. Rebic loses the ball in the next attack, after which Mega didn’t to return, so the final result is 77:81.
